The points leaders held the front row with Lauda on pole and Peterson beside him. Walker and Hunt sat were in the second row followed by Evans and Andretti. Evans and Adretti attempted to separate themselves from the pack. Andretti appeared to win his dual against Walker. Walker caught back up to Andretti and then passed him. Lauda&#8217;s Ferrari ran out of wear before Peterson&#8217;s Lotus and Peterson flew through the last corner to capture the win. Lauda slowed through the last corner and Walker caught and passed him to take second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Race details follow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1st Tom V. (R.
